About Barbara

Barbara Becomes Life-In-Motion Coach

Early in 2004, while musing about my Post-Trauma Healing practice of twenty years, I realized that, as clients ended their therapy & Reiki work with me, I'd passed them on to vocational counselors when they inevitably asked, "What shall I do next?"

Hmmmm; I mused further: Could I help clients take the next steps in their Life Journeys? Aha! I consulted my own personal life coach: Q: "Should I become a personal life coach?" A: "Logical step! Yes!"

Where and how could I acquire new concepts and tools to help clients move forward? Should I design a program? My coach suggested I call The Coaches Institute, based in California, offering classes here in Minnesota. I called them up, and immediately knew their Co-Active philosophy was the right approach for me.

As a Co-Active Coach, knowing that "Each person is already Creative, Resourceful, and Whole," I could continue to empower my clients. We'd first design how we'd work together. I'd give them new tools. As they defined and completed each piece of work, they would move gracefully toward—and achieve—their dreams and goals, while experiencing satisfaction and fulfillment "now." They'd identify their Life Purpose: "Why am I here, in this world?" "How can I live out that purpose?"

I took the classes and opened my coaching practice. Today, five years later, I call my contribution in this area Life-In-Motion Coaching. I chose this name because I've done a lot of moving in my life. I've lived in 8 states and 12 cities and towns; I've been (in sequence) wife, teacher, mom, homemaker, secretary, executive assistant, massage therapist, healer, and had a successful business of 26 years. I've become an expert at "moving"—physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Emotionally? Yes: I'm an expert in confronting my fears, figuring out what I needed to do to "get unstuck" and begin again. I "stay in balance, while gracefully moving toward and achieving my dreams and goals and living out my own Life Purpose."

Are you ready to put your Life-into-Motion? What have you put off doing—for years, or months, or days? I invite you to call me! Let's schedule your complimentary Life-In-Motion session!
